Judith with the head of Holofernes is a popular Old Testament story that is found on the canvases of many masters of world art.

I imagined Judith as a Soviet Komsomol member who punished the hippie bully Holofernes, defending her country from the invasion of foreign culture. This is a work about the fact that all things in the world can be viewed from two sides and each point of view will be correct for one of the parties to the conflict.

Each viewer will see something of his own in this work, someone will see the theme of fiminism, someone will see the topic of obsession, someone will see the theme of abuse, someone will see insoluble contradictions between different groups of people. And I raise all these topics in my work, but first of all it is a modern view or a classic biblical story.

And also this picture is my family portrait, in the role of Judith I portrayed myself, and in the role of Holofernes, my husband.

The work was exhibited at the Republican Art Gallery
