The through topic of my research I chose Lithuania as a phenomenon. The reason of this choice is simple. I relocated here, and therefore my aim is to get acquainted of all aspects of being here: culture, nature, people.
I started my study from the very basement - the soil of Lithuania. The exploration might be an intersection of art and science. Using geological method to excave sample “kerns” from the ground, I process them from the perspective of pure artistic research - uncover the latent narratives concealed beneath the surface of Lithuanian soil.
The soil beneath our feet is more than just a physical substrate; it is a reservoir of untold stories, a living canvas shaped by the interplay of natural forces and human interventions. In the rich tapestry of Lithuanian landscapes, each soil sample becomes a brushstroke, capturing the essence of the land and its profound connection to the cultural, historical, and ecological tapestry of the region. Through the lens of artistic inquiry, I seek to transform the act of soil sampling into a poetic expression, a means of uncovering narratives that transcend scientific data and resonate with the human spirit.
As I said above, my exploration is not confined to the scientific rigor of soil analysis; instead, it expands into the realms of imagination, interpretation, and contemplation. By integrating artistic practices into the archaeological and geological boundaries, I aim to bridge the gap between the empirical and the ephemeral, weaving a narrative that resonates with both the scientific mind and the artistic soul. As I delve into the land’s surface, I am not only reveal geological layers but also evaluate the exploration of cultural strata, unearthing the possible basis that may influence Lithuanian people.
